The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority is responsible for preparing plans and policies for the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and handicraft industries within the framework of the comprehensive national development strategy, and presenting them to the Council of Ministers for approval, to develop and support the sector, given its importance in strengthening the country’s national economy, in line with Oman Vision 2040.
