About The Authority

The Tax Authority in Oman was established over nearly four decades, to become an administrative and financial independent body with legal personality in 2019, pursuant to Royal Decree No. (66/2019), issued on October 14, 2019. The Authority reports to the Minister of Finance. The competencies of the General Secretariat of Taxation in the Ministry of Finance were transferred to it, and the employees of the Secretariat were transferred with their same functional status to the Authority.The Tax Authority has four departments and a number of directorates which aim to enhance the state's public revenues and create a stable economic income that serves the public interest.
