Smart Apps Serving Muslims in and Beyond The Sultanate of Om...

The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs aims to achieve its vision of effectively managing religious affairs in the Sultanate of Oman. It fulfills its mission by fostering religious awareness, nurturing good citizens, and organizing religious matters within the Sultanate through qualified staff and modern methods.

The Ministry has launched several smart applications that offer knowledge and religious sciences across various aspects. These applications serve as tools for Muslims inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman, guiding them in performing worship accurately, and assisting them in answering important questions related to  Islamic practices, such as prayers, fasting, Hajj, Zakat, and other rituals.

The most important smart applications launched by the Ministry, the Hajj application, Ramadan application, Oman Calendar application, and the How to Pay Zakat application. Each of these applications provide users with valuable knowledge and resources. The Hajj application offers explanations of rituals, and recommended supplications in Hajj. In the Ramadan application, users can view fatwas related to Ramadan, saty updated on the Ministry's activities during the holy month, and view the prayer times.

The How to Pay Zakat application simplifies the provisions of Zakat explained, offering a clear explanation of its definition, legitimacy, rulings and expenditures. It also includes a calculation tool for more than 10 types of Zakat. Meanwhile, the Oman Calendar application allows users to follow both  Hijri and Gregorian dates, get prayer times with an alert, determine the Qibla direction, locate nearby mosques, and explore other features.

The Ministry’s efforts in digitizing services to serve beneficiaries both inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman highlight the importance of leveraging technology to provide Muslims easy access to information, open beneficial channels, and facilitate the performance of worship and religious duties.
